Hey there all you sports betting zanies and weekend warriors! Alikat is back with her weekly picks all jazzed up for a very good week 2 in the NFL. I’ll first give you my PLAYS ON SUNDAY and then get into the rest of the picks. The rest of the picks, just so you know, consists of who I think will cover and win but that doesn’t mean I’m necessarily betting on them. The PLAYS ON SUNDAY will be the PICKS that make up my RECORD and where I’m putting my money! So here we go.
PLAYS ON SUNDAY
1. Packers +1 at Giants
Love this game! Favre will exploit a very weak Giants secondary and whether Manning goes or not the Giants simply don’t match-up well with a very strong Packer Defense.
TAKE THE PACKERS AT +1
2. 49ers +3 at Rams
The 49ers have the makings of a solid young defense. The Rams are very beat up along the O-Line as well as having lost Tye Hill CB to a broken back. The 49ers always play the Rams tough and they’re getting 3 points. I like those odds!
TAKE THE 49ERS +3
3. Saints -3.5 at Bucaneers
You have to love a team expected to win the NFC Title that has an extended break and is coming off an awful showing in their last game. The Saints will pour it on a weak Bucs team that just isn’t very good.
TAKE THE SAINTS AT -3.5, though I got them early in the week at -3. So for the record I’m going with them at -3!
4. Patriots -3.5 vs Chargers (in New England)
I like the fact that the Patriot Players have had all this crap to deal with this week. I gotta feeling they are tired and pissed off a little at their own coach for this distraction which will only focus them more intently on beating the Chargers. You know they can’t lose on the heels of everybody thinking the only way they have won so much is because of “Sex, Lies, and Videotape”!
TAKE THE PATS -3.5 If you can find it get them at -3, but don’t pay for it!
5. Bengals -7 at Browns
The Browns suck despite having some very good young talent. The Bengals aren’t about to take a step back after winning against the Ravens. Carson Palmer didn’t have his A game on Monday. I expect he will Sunday and that means some points for the Bengals. I don’t usually go with a favorite of 7 points very often, but this one smells too good.
TAKE THE BENGALS AT -7, of course if you can get it and I have seen it at some sports books, take the Bengals at -6.5
THE OTHER PICKS FOR WEEK 2
Bills +10 at Steelers
Steelers have too much on both sides of the ball in their home opener. I do think it will be closer than people think, at least for 2-3 quarters.
STEELERS
Colts -7 at Titans
This could be a blow out or the Titans will keep this ugly and close. They did play them tough both games last year and won in Titanville! There are at least two upsets this week and this could be one of them. If you can get the Titans at +7.5 It could be a good bet. In the end I have to go with…
COLTS
Texans +6.5 at Panthers
Another tough one in my opinion. The Panthers historically don’t do well as favorites at home, especially by more than 3 points. The Texans are looking for their 5th straight win dating back to last year. I’m going with the upset here if only ATS. Take the +6.5 points on the…
TEXANS +6.5
Falcons +10 at Jaguars
This game looks like it will be blacked out in the Jacksonville area. That shows you how much people care about this game without Vick and Leftwich. The Jags have to bounce back at home or else Jack Del Rio may have to hand over the keys to OMG- Mike Tice! I wouldn’t touch this game for anything. I like the Jags to Win, but I have serious doubts about them covering. On the other hand no matter how much help you try to give Joey Harrington it just goes down the drain, like handing Money to a 16 year old on Friday night.
JAGS TO WIN, BUT STAY AWAY!
Vikings +3 at Lions
The Vikes have beaten the Lions the last 10 games. I don’t see anything changing on Sunday. The Lions are once again over rated and over hyped. The Vikes will WIN
VIKINGS +3
Cowboys -3.5 at Dolphins
We’ll see if the Cowboys can stay focused and consistent after their huge win Sunday Night. Wade Phillips and Cam Cameron face off against each other after having been on the Chargers last year. Wade has the much better team though Miami seems to play the Cowboys tough over the years.
COWBOYS -3.5
Seahawks -2.5 at Cardinals
Cardinals need to Win or else they face the same old songs in the media this year as years past. The Seahawks should win this game, but that’s the problem for me, they should win it. If I was to bet I would take the Hawks at -2.5 and nothing more. If it goes to 3 you have to like the Cards at home in a must win situation.
GO WITH THE CARDS AT +3
Jets -9.5 at Ravens
Ravens are pissed off! Jets will most likely be playing Kellen Clemens in his first pro start at QB! That doesn’t sound like a good mixture in Raven Stadium. The good thing for the Jets is they’ll be getting Kyle Boller at QB for the Ravens, so anything could happen. Stay away!
Ravens to WIN, but not so sure about the cover
Raiders +10 at Broncos
Hopefully for the Raider sports betting fans they will see Culpepper behind center instead of McCown. Stupid mistake on Kiffin’s part last week starting him. He’s just not that good! I actually think this game will be closer than people think. You have to go with the Broncos because everything points that way and even if Culpepper does start it has been a long time since he played a meaningful game.
BRONCOS TO WIN, NOT SO SURE ABOUT THE COVER
Chiefs +12 at Bears
The Bears should KILL the Chiefs! But they do have Rex at QB and he better play well or his snaps are numbered. I don’t see how, barring interceptions that the Chiefs can possibly score on the MAD Bears Defense. If Rex plays well this could get ugly early.
BEARS -12
Well that’s all boys and girls of the football world. Stay tuned for my Monday Night Pick coming on the Monday afternoon post! Get your drink on and let the MONEY ROLL!

You wanna know how my Giants can win on Sunday against the Packers D? Jared “Pork Chop” Lorenzen will just run THROUGH the Packers D.
All by himself.
Lorenzen represents the next evolution of the position - the quarterback-fullback-tight end-linebacker hybrid.
