I love that 100-year old Marv Levy is back in an active role with the Bills organization.  Levy took the Bills to the Super Bowl four straight years in the early nineties, so Gramps gotta know something about winning (and something about losing the big game).  It looks like Levy wants to build an East Coast, minor league version of the Colts - all offense with big play ability and a defense that is questionable at best.

Sure, J.P. Losman is no Manning, Lee Evans is no Marvin Harrison (yet), their four member running back committee is no Joseph Addai, and most importantly, their offensive line is not secret service material like the Colts’ line is.  All that said, however, if you don’t play some sort of 2-deep cloud/prevent D, Losman and Evans will beat you.  And if you do, they’ll hope to run at, around and through you with their running backs, each with the skill to do one of those tasks.

With the key losses of Takeo Spikes, Nate Clements, and London Fletcher-Baker, the margin of error on defense is paper thin.  They’re hoping that nothing goes wrong as this is not the dominating defense of two years ago and it’s certainly not the above average defense of last year.  Defensive coordinator Perry Fewell will be employing a version of the Cover 2 which suits the skills of his young and inexperienced defense.  If they can keep games close, expect the Bills to challenge the Jets for second place in the East.
